Design of electro-optic Mach–Zehnder interferometer based all-optical binary half adder and half subtractor

چکیده

By exploiting the phenomena of optical switching, different logical and arithmetic operations can be performed. This paper presents a novel optimized design structures to perform addition subtraction two binary digits using electro-optic effect based Mach–Zehnder interferometer operating at 1460 nm in S band. The proposed are numerically simulated designed beam propagation method MATLAB software. performance parameters like extinction ratio, contrast insertion loss, amplitude modulation relative eye opening have been evaluated structure yields maximum ER 33.22 dB 28.76 for half adder subtractor respectively. Additionally, comparison is presented with previously structures.
